  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 6 chicken hamburger buns
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 8 slices American cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until onions are soft.
  4. In a bowl, combine torn hamburger buns with melted butter and sesame seeds; mix well.
  5. In a baking dish, layer half of the bun mixture followed by half of the beef mixture. Spread mayo, ketchup, relish, mustard, vinegar, sugar, paprika, and garlic powder over the top.
  6. Add shredded cheddar cheese and another layer of beef mixture.
  7. Top with remaining bun mixture and American cheese slices.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until golden brown.
