  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup bourbon BBQ sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices crispy turkey bacon
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into approximately 16–20 meatballs.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs for about 5–7 minutes.
  5. Add bourbon BBQ sauce to the skillet and simmer for about 10 minutes until heated through.
  6. Toast sub rolls in the oven for around 5 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Assemble subs by placing meatballs inside each roll and topping with extra sauce, cheese, and turkey bacon.
  8. If desired, return assembled subs to the oven for an additional 2–3 minutes to melt the cheese.
