Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and instant yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually stir in flour to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 to 10 minutes until smooth; alternatively, knead in a stand mixer for about 6 minutes.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm area for 1 to 1½ hours until doubled in size.

  6. Place seam-side down in a greased loaf pan; cover and let rise again for 30 to 45 minutes.
