  • 12 medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cups cooked white rice
  • 480 milliliters chicken broth
  • 1.5 cups mixed onions and bell peppers, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Toss shrimp with seafood seasoning until evenly coated.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until opaque; set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining oil and ground beef; sauté until browned.
  4. Add onions, bell peppers, and garlic; cook until softened.
  5. Sprinkle in seasonings and flour; stir to combine.
  6. Pour in chicken broth; simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  7. Fold in cooked rice; mix well and heat through.
  8. Return shrimp to skillet; gently combine before serving.
